City of Toronto Hitting Fast Forward on Dozens of Summer Construction Projects

Mayor John Tory says 32 of the city’s 70 major road construction projects are being sped up to reduce the city’s notorious summer congestion.

The accelerated approach includes extended work hours — in some cases up to 24 hours a day — and additional resources for crews.

It “indicates a new attitude that we have at city hall,” said Tory at a news conference near Lake Shore Boulevard, which has fully reopened one month ahead of schedule. read more >>
